California finally!!!! (Mon. July 12)

First, before we get started on today's update. Two things

1. We want to know who is following us on the blog so if you get a chance can you post a hi as a comment so we know you are there?

2. The kids took a few videos along the way and have them posted on "youtube". Here is a link:

After another long ride in the car we finally arrived at the Petaluma, CA KOA. Petaluma is about 30 minutes north of San Francisco in wine country!!! So here I am for the second time in wine country with not one other legal person with me!!! I need to plan this better next time!!!!!!


It was late afternoon when we arrived, too late to do much in SF so we decided to lay low. The kids rode some special bikes at the campground and spent some time jumping on a big jumping pillow. Then to bed early for a long tiring day in SF planned for tomorrow.

    This blog was forwarded to me by a friend (thank you, Kathy!). My husband and I are planning a family vacation to visit Route 66 in a couple of weeks so I'm reading this blog a little over a year after your trip and wishing we had the time to do the whole route! Our trip will begin in Vegas and follow a loop to take us to, at least, a good portion of Route 66. Thank you for sharing your experiences! We'll do our best to get to that general store in Hackberry before closing time!
