We left Cedar Point Amusement Park and continued our journey
west with the assistance of God's Personal Secretary (Colin's idea of what GPS stands for. We just shorten it to God now).
We drove through Pennsylvania, Indiana and on into Il
linois arriving in Chicago around 4:30. The boys took a swim and I got some school work done (I am still teaching online while on the road) and then we headed into Chicago to start what we planned to be our "Pizza Tour". We had six places we were hoping to hit over the two days (stole the suggestions from a real Chicago Pizza Tour)
with plans to rate each one and pick our favorite Chicago pizza. We hoped to do two today and then the other four tomorrow. We started out at Pizano's. They have both a thin crust pizza (advertised as Oprah's favorite) and a deep dish (the one the tour would provide). We couldn't decide so we got both!!! We were so hungry we couldn't wait the 30 minutes so we started with salad and bread. By the time the pizzas were gone we knew there was no way we were going to a second pizza shop tonight.
We left the pizza shop to head to the lake to watch the Wednesday night fireworks which had been posted on the web as starting at 9:30. But as we headed towards the lake everyone was coming back from the lake. Guess the time online was wrong!!! That was ok though. If the boys had been given the choice between pizza or fireworks you know what they would have chosen!! Besides, it was so cold here last night they were too cold to hang outside. They had not brought any jackets and regretted that decision. So, we headed back to the hotel (no close campgrounds around here) to get some sleep to get ready for tomorrow.
